The Daily Ops Digest
One message, every morning, 60 seconds to read. The whole team sees the same numbers, and nothing rots quietly in a spreadsheet.
The template (paste into Slack or email)

INVENTORY
Mismatches (Shopify vs 3PL): [2 — MOD-TEE-BLK-M, MOD-MUG-01]
Low stock (<14 days cover): [MOD-HAT-01 — 9 days]
🚩 NEEDS A DECISION TODAY
[1. Reorder MOD-HAT-01 (supplier lead time 21 days — we're already late)]
[2. #1207 stuck at 3PL — call them or refund?]
The rules
1. Every number sits next to its 7-day average. A number without a baseline is noise.
2. The flags section is the whole point. If nothing needs a decision, write "none" — but say it.
3. Same time, same place, every day. The digest works because it's a habit, not a report.
4. One owner. Someone's name is on it — even when a machine drafts it.
Prompt — Compile it from your exports
Compile today's ops digest for [Store] in exactly the format below.
Rules:
- Compare every metric to its 7-day average; add ⚠️ to anything 20%+
worse than average.
- Inventory: flag any SKU where the two counts disagree (MISMATCH) and
any SKU with under 14 days of cover at its 30-day run rate.
- NEEDS A DECISION: max 3 items, each one line, each with the reason.
Only things a human must decide today. If none, write "none".
- Do not invent numbers. If a section's data is missing, write
[NO DATA — check export].
FORMAT:
[paste the digest template from this doc]
DATA:
Shopify orders export (yesterday + prior 7 days): [paste]
Helpdesk stats: [paste]
Inventory tracker rows: [paste from inventory-sync-tracker.csv]
Notes from the team: [anything unusual — promos, carrier issues]
Want this in Slack at 7am without anyone compiling it? That's a one-week build: pulls Shopify, the helpdesk, and your 3PL, writes the digest, flags the decisions. You own the code. [modusstudio.co]
